1.Exterior:

Avalon4 use rectangular design with black matte painting.


Avalon began using single group from the second generation.Users could easily incorporate it into the server chassis. Avalon4 can be seen also follows the same design ideas.

Front of the Avalon4,there are air intake with data cable/power cord interface and LED status lights.You can see two hashboard plates side by side, each one has 20 Avalon4 chips.


From the back,there is a 12cm fan.


Package includes:Raspberry Pi (2nd generation) / a connecting line data(15cm) / Usb date line(32cm) / USB cable adapter AUC.

2.Installation:

We use a 1000W PSU for test.


Raspberry Pi connect Avalon4 with the USB cable adapter AUC.


Connect the power:there are two of 8pin interfaces on each hashboard.

3.Software setting:

After the power is turned on,Avalon4's ip address is automatically assigned,you could enter the web control page with this ip. (Note 4A segment is 192.168.0. *,sometimes you have to modify the network segment first)


Control pages using graphical design,you could adjust workers/pools/frequency/ip/dns/gateway here.




You can also adjust settings via traditional settings pages.



After 24h worked in the F2pool.Hashrate is about 0.86T-1.09T.


Working status:



4.Power consumption, noise and temperature test:

The temperature of the environment:13-18 degree.
Environmental noise:39dBa.

Normal satus:672W @default frequency with Pi.


In order to get accurate data,we use two ultra-quiet 500w PSU.Under normal operating conditions the noise at the inlet is about 46dBa. The outlet noise is about 47dBa.



When the fan runs at high speed,at the inlet to the noise around 56.6dBa.The outlet noise is about 59dBa.

Adjust chip's Voltage to 8250,frequency to 460:400:385.At this point the miner voltage value is 0.825v(after working a while,will be 0.8v)

7. Summary

Avalon4 has compact design,space-saving specially.

The controller program is good,Theoretically each Pi could run 4 of Avalon4.Control page has simple design,looks good.

Hashrate/Power consumption is about 0.95T&670W @ default frequency(445:385:370).

Quietest miner in the history of the Avalon.

Excellent heat dissipation.

Overclocking potential.
