The Bitmain Antminer L3 series Litecoin mining machine was released at the end of 2016, using the LTE1 chip BM1485 developed by Bitmain.

There are three versions of the L3 series of mining machines so far, namely Antminer L3 (250M/400W), Antminer L3+ (500M/800W), Antminer L3++ (580M).

For a review of Antminer L3+, see this post http://www.cybtc.org/portal.php?mod=view&aid=105

The Litecoin mining machine is also known as the Scrypt algorithm mining machine. Except for the Litecoin, any Scrypt algorithm-based cryptocurrency can be mined with the Scrypt mining machine.

This is the latest version of Antminer L3++, and here is the review from Cybtc.

I. Unpacking:

Antminer L3++ is packed five layers cartons box.

The mining machine is wrapped with air foam, and the pearl cotton board is suspended and packaged, which effectively ensures the safety of transportation. A description of the mining machine is attached to the box.

The Antminer L3++ is designed with front and rear dual cooling fans. The alloy casing is compact and sturdy.

A warning label is attached to the side.

At the top of the miner, you can see the miner consists of four mining boards, each has two PCIe 6-pin inputs and four signal cables lines connected to the controller.

The controller with PCIe 6-pin input located at the top.

The signal cables are designed with a buckle and the contact compaction is beneficial to the stability of data transmission.

At the front of the miner, you can see the IP button, the LAN socket, the reset button, and the status LED. You can also see the front cooling fan(air inlet, 12V, 2.3A).

At the back of the miner, you can see another cooling fan with the same spec. (air outlet).

The dimensions of the miner.

II. Installation:

The Antminer L3++ needs to carefully check whether the heat sink has stuck on the chip or not before installation.

The power supply used in the test is the Ant APW3-12-1600-B2 power supply (1600W gold standard).

First of all, plug in the power cable to the mining boards. There are two PCIe 6-pin sockets on each of the four mining of the antminer L3++.

Plug in the power cable to the controller (PCIe 6-pin).

Plug in the LAN cable.

The finished wire connection of the miner.

Switch on the power supply, the miner automatically allocates the IP address.

Open a browser and enter the miner's IP address. Then, input the password to enter the miner control panel. The default username and password are: "root".

Set up the mining pool.

After the setup is complete, the miner starts running after a few seconds. In the panel, you can see the real-time status of the miner.

The status LED of the miner when it is in normal operation.

III. Testing:

The indoor noise is about 39dBa and the room temperature is about 26 degrees during the day and 20 degrees at night.

The default frequency is 450. Running for a long time, the average hast rate is about 593M, and the curve of hash rate has no big fluctuation.

The power consumed is measured at 1040W.

For overclock, increase the frequency from default 450 to 469.

The average hash rate is about 610M.

The power is measured at 1080W.

Depending on the machine physique of each miner is slightly different, it would be safe to increase the frequency step by step in overclocking.

The noise level measured at about 20cm of the miner is 83 dBa when the fan speed is 4300 rpm.

The default fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the ambient temperature. When the temperature of the miner is low at night, when the fan speed drops to about 3900 turns, the 80dBa is measured at the miner about 20cm.

In normal operation, the chip temperature is 50-58 degrees shown in the control panel.

The intake was measured at 30 degrees.

The air outlet measured 30 degrees of hot air.

IV. Summary:

1. Antminer L3++ is an optimized and upgraded version of L3 + with a single unit hash rate increase of about 90M.

2. The operation is stable for a long time, the measured average hash rate is about 593M and the power is 1040W.

3. There is a certain degree of overclocking (depending on the constitution of each mining machine).

4. Applies to all cryptographic currencies using the Scrypt algorithm.

5. The noise level of the miner is slightly higher, but it is common in miner with a high hash rate.

6. The design is compact and solid, the operation is simple, and it is propitious to set up a large number of miners.
